Become part of our partnership vision Specsavers is a truly talented organisation and the world's largest privately owned optical retailer. We are a Partnership of over 1,800 businesses globally, with 770 optical and audiology practices in the UK and Ireland alone. More than 2,400 partners and 30,000 people work across our stores, support offices and the supply chain internationally. We are a revolutionary, dynamic, family run business, continuing to go from strength to strength and proud of it. We have recently announced a new partnership to help improve access and outcomes across eye health services in the community. Specsavers has made a major investment in a partnership with Newmedica , one of the largest independent ophthalmology providers to the NHS. It is early days but our shared – and very exciting - vision is that together we will, provide NHS ophthalmology services in the community, led by ophthalmologists, and supported by optometrists and clinical assistants in our stores. Due to the new partnership, we have a fantastic new opportunity to join our team and help support the link between the NHS and our new partnership, contributing to the creation and delivery of strategic initiatives. In addition, you will develop best practice across the business' ophthalmic service portfolio and support the development of business growth strategies. Your key objectives will be to work with all stakeholders who have a responsibility to procure public health services such as hospitals,CCGs, the Department of Health to deliver contracts to the Newmedica business and partnerships where we can help to improve eye health services. You will use your commercial experience to negotiate with relevant individuals within the transformational commissioning services to develop and agree contracts for ophthalmic services. As well as having exposure and autonomy to provide feedback on new service provision for growth, you will work with our Newmedica internal team and establish the right structure of service redesign. In short to re-design services around the patient and not around the provider. To be successful in this role, you will have a detailed understanding of working in a NHS Trust, CCG or Department of Health at a senior level. Previous experience has allowed you to deal with the structure and crucially the re structure content of health service contracts and ideally you have specific knowledge of ophthalmic procedures and patient pathways. You can clearly demonstrate your ability to build key relationships and credibility with a variety of stakeholders and possess a commercial and patient-focused approach to business development. The role can be home based with extensive travel across the UK. We offer you a challenging position with excellent opportunities and a benefits package that includes: bonus (based on your own personal performance), profit share, car allowance, private healthcare, private dental cover, permanent health insurance, life assurance, pension.
