BPD Zenith is a Gold Accredited IBM Business Partner and a leading seller and implementer of its Maximo Asset Management software.  We provide a complete range of services from initial implementation to fully managed and hosted cloud-based solutions. BPD has offices in Carlisle (England), Aberdeen (Scotland) as well as Canada, America, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.


The Role

BPD Zenith is undergoing a period of growth, both in its Software Sales (cloud-based SaaS and traditional licensing) and Service offerings.  This is due to widespread recognition of the high-quality Maximo implementations we have delivered over recent years, the building of strong relationships with key influencers, and the increasing global recognition of our capabilities. To capitalise on this, BPD is recruiting an additional UK based Business Development Manager.

The successful candidates are required to have a proven track record selling IBM Maximo (or similar CMMS, CAFM or ERP systems) and will be responsible for covering existing accounts and new business. What makes BPD Zenith special is that we are a delivery-focussed company, so the successful applicants must also be capable of striking the right balance between Client Management and proactive Business Development.


Location: UK coverage (any UK location. Carlisle, Aberdeen or home-based office)

Salary:    Excellent base salary, uncapped commission, company pension scheme



  • Client Management
  • Maintain BPD Zeniths high standards of customer satisfaction
  • Deliver agreed software and service revenues and margins
  • Build strong, trusted and profitable relationships with clients, suppliers and influencers
  • Be proactive in identifying new opportunities
  • Respond to Invitations to Tender, pre-qualification questionnaires as appropriate
  • Accurate Sales forecasting

Key Attributes, Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record of IBM Maximo (or similar CMMS, CAFM or ERP systems) sales success
  • Minimum 3 years Client Management/Business Development experience

    while maintaining/enhancing customer satisfaction

  • Recognise the importance of building long term profitable customer relationships
  • Operates with complete integrity
  • Experience of selling software and/or services
  • Business acumen
  • A high-level understanding of business processes (ideally in Maintenance Management, Inventory and Supply Chain)
  • A broad understanding of current technology trends
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work at all levels within a clients company from technician to CEO and an appreciation of their respective needs
  • Negotiation skills and experience
  • Willingness to travel (UK but potential for some foreign travel)

Desirable Attributes, Skills & Experience

  • 5 years Client Management/Business Development Experience
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following industries: Facilities Management, Utilities, Power Generation, Travel & Transport
  • An existing network of contacts in one or more of the above industries
  • Previous sales or technical experience of IBMs Maximo Asset Management software or similar CMMS, CAFM or ERP systems
  • A background in maintenance or engineering operations
  • An understanding of how IBM operates and works with channel partners
  • Experience of selling high value software and services
  • Experience of selling cloud-based solutions
