We have an exciting opportunity for a Network Services Manager to join the Information Technology team on a permanent basis to drive our network services strategy forward.

What you'll be doing:

Overall you'll ensure the effective delivery, strategy realisation and day to day operation and compliance of voice and data network platforms to the Group.

Day to day you'll be:

  • Providing strategic direction, selecting and driving key partnerships to deliver solutions and services which support and enable the commercial, IT and Cloud strategies.
  • Leading contract negotiations across our current voice and data proposition ensuring a balance is struck between cost and operational offerings.
  • Effective leadership and development of a growing voice and data team providing design, implementation and support capability across WAN, LAN, MAN, WiFi, contact centre operations and wider telephony platforms.
  • Providing business change capability across portfolio and IT programmes while maintaining a cost-effective, resilient and compliant communications infrastructure.
  • Maintaining communications technology roadmaps which align to strategic vision, ensuring the supportability, performance and compliance of network infrastructure.
  • Ensure the high availability of services across data centre and corporate sites to provide Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery capability.
  • Capacity and monitoring of the network infrastructure estate.
  • Vulnerability management of network and security infrastructure and solutions, including management of third parties.

The Knowledge & Skills you'll have:


  • Understanding of the principles and theory relating to IT network design, implementation and management.
  • Strong knowledge of traditional telephony platform architectures and understanding of unified communication and contact strategies and solutions.
  • People management skills including the recruitment, development and mentoring of staff.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective customer relationships including collaboration, communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective vendor relationships.
  • Experience of successfully managing large budgetary responsibility, delivering on time and to plan.
  • Evidence of professional learning and development to build and maintain skills and expertise
  • Excellent operational, programme and presentation skills and strong inter-personal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to maintain resilience through challenges and keep team momentum.
  • Ability to lead and motivate small to medium teams to deliver sustained high performance


  • Experience within Cisco, Checkpoint and HP Switching technologies.
  • Awareness of network data and voice requirements within the Financial Services industry and the IT marketplace.
  • Strategic influencing and understanding of IT strategies in relation to IT Operations processes and technologies.
  • Understanding of IT procurement and contract negotiation.
