As part of our client’s data team, the successful candidate will design and build workflows and systems for the production of personalised print, set up and configure Web2Print systems and generally support IT systems throughout the business.
The Position:
The Data & Systems Development aspects of the role will include:
* Creating and developing code and applications to perform complex client data requirements
* Creating, testing and troubleshooting e-shots and websites
* Using Inspire Designer to create bespoke workflows from multiple datasets up to and over a million records
* Managing and manipulating data accurately and securely, troubleshooting issues
* Generating layouts and templates within Inspire Designer to produce personalised printed goods
* Understanding basic code level scripting within Inspire Designer
* Writing and testing code, refining and rewriting as necessary
* Testing new programs and workflows
* Configuring mailing routes within a print and data environment (Standard Mail, Mailsort, Mailmark, Admail, Greenpost)
* Using Bulk Mailer to provide reports and sortation information for Royal Mail or other upstream mail providers
* Using Catfish W2P systems to setup, configure and maintain online Web2Print systems
* Working closely with project managers, designers, other developers, external developers (where necessary,) systems analysts, sales and marketing teams to facilitate business and client requirements
The IT Maintenance & Support aspects of the position are going to involve:
* Maintaining general IT systems and computer equipment on the company’s network
* Troubleshooting issues and, where appropriate, escalating to high level internal support or external IT consultants
* Monitoring and correcting software and hardware defects on machines
* General IT tasks such as password changes to wireless network, installing local software, printers and utilities, as per IT policies
* Developing automated daily, weekly and monthly reporting using Excel, SQL, PHP & VBA
* Using Crystal Reports to produce reporting
* Identifying and implementing procedural/technical improvements to current reporting & processes
* Automating processing tasks for increased efficiency, including linking systems through use of API’s
The Candidate:
Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:
* A minimum of two years’ experience working in a similar role or environment
* Competence in the use of Microsoft Excel, Management Information Systems and coding
* Strong numerical analysis and problem-solving skills
* Self-motivation, discipline and a keen desire to learn and progress
* Confident and engaging communication skills – both written and verbal
* Excellent attention to detail and a willingness to be accountable for audit management and training
* Strong time management and productivity skills to project manage against tight deadlines, ensuring all paperwork and reporting is in line with output measures and targets
* An ability to work collaboratively with immediate and wider teams
* An understanding of the need for privacy and compliance in dealing with confidential business information and sensitive data
