Are you looking for a new challenge in the Education sector?

Bridge Education are looking for Primary Education based Supply teachers and support staff to work in and around the Preston area on a full and part time basis

What to expect:

Supply teachers play an invaluable role in the schooling system, filling in for teachers when they can't fulfil their duties due to illness or important personal matters. These educators are utilised in primary and secondary education and cover positions in special needs schools, too. Supply teachers may have a variety of duties throughout the day.

You will be required to carry out the same activities that are assigned to regular teachers. Duties may include

* Supervising children during break times.

* Overlooking pupils leaving and entering school premises.

* Overseeing additional classes due to the unexpected absence of another teacher.

* Delivering set subject material on any given day.

* Construct lesson plans based on the guidelines of the school curriculum, if there is an emergency absence.

Supply teachers should arrive early for work on requested days. They also are expected to match any outstanding class work with the curriculum and conduct themselves in a courteous fashion to pupils, fellow staff members and any visiting parents.

They should be aware of school procedures, like completing the correct paperwork for late arriving pupils, giving permission for students to leave class early or providing access to resources such as computers or textbooks.

You will be required to keep the classroom in order and provide a brief report on the day's activities for the returning teacher, such as any problems encountered with pupils and the subject material covered.

Why choose supply:

* Flexibility

Choose your own hours, we find you work to fit around you, your specialism and your lifestyle.

* Autonomy
planning, target-setting, assessments, and meetings are all part and parcel of a teacher’s daily work. But supply teaching can provide relief from these onerous tasks.

* Variety
Most teachers stay in schools for years and never get to experience life in any other school. Supply teaching allows you to work in numerous settings and allows you to vary your roles and responsibilities between assignments.

* New hobbies
If you’re more interested in climbing Ben Nevis than finding ways to overcome mountains of paperwork, then supply teaching could offer you the freedom to pursue other interests. Take a week or two out while you go on an expedition at the rock face, become a Cordon Bleu cook, or anything else that takes your fancy.

* Relocation
If you’re thinking of moving to a new area, why not ‘try before you buy’ with a stretch of supply work there before you make your decision. You’ll get a good insight into community life, facilities, problems and advantages through your work with children and their families.

* Test drive
Supply teaching offers up the chance to work in different schools so that you can make a more informed choice before settling into a permanent job.

* Return to teaching
Maybe you’ve had some time out from the classroom after having children? For any school to take you seriously, you’ll need to show that you have up-to-date experience, are aware of current developments and initiatives in education, so time spent in classrooms to update and refresh your skills is crucial.

* Development
your teaching style can become very insular if you stay in the same environment. Supply work provides you with the chance to talk to other teachers, see how they teach, plan and assess, and open your eyes to other ways of doing things.

* Earn as you learn
Embarking on a MA could be just the challenge you need, and supply work an effective way to support your studies, particularly if your course is education related.

In return, Bridge education offer:

* A dedicated consultant to support

* Excellent pay rates

* Great new opportunity
