Test Technician - Stockport - 32,00 / 36,000 plus bonus

ALH Recruitment are looking to recruit a Customer Test Assurance Technician with immediate effect for our client based in Stockport, Greater Manchester.

This role will require travelling to customers sites on average two days per week.

Role:

Working within a customer facing team that provides support for all customers through their own and industry driven test phases of new products and software releases, along with close interaction with the internal Customer Program Managers, Product Managers and R&D Project Teams. Working with our client's customers to ensure that their systems, partners and products are tested against hardware/software and the industry standards.

Working towards achieving compliance testing standards, is able to work on Customers’ sites or within DCC/CSP environments to achieve test phases and plan the required actions to accomplish testing in line with internal and external (customer and industry) plans.

In conjunction with other test resources this role will be responsible for the development and day to day management of the company test plan. You will be responsible for communicating with interested parties where we can optimise resources to achieve a unified testing plan.

Throughout testing activities, it is expected that a client portal for raising and managing bug-fixes is established. The team will be responsible for overseeing the defect management process to enable them to track and re plan when fixes are available for defects identified, contributing to regular client defect/triage sessions and reporting progress.

·Effective and documented planning and testing of products.

·Accurate identification and management of defects.

·Develop knowledge of Industry specifications and product range.

Support the Customer testing of products and related systems in the context of validation testing and continuous integration. Develop/contribute to test and test resource development. Contribute knowledge and experience to product development.

·Work as high performance test team alongside Software/Hardware and Mechanical development teams as an integrated part of product test.

·Awareness of customer requirements and able to represent our client in an appropriate manner.

·Utilise equipment and resources to support testing and support.

·Be aware of all regulatory requirements for products.

·Establish and maintain appropriate test metrics for each Customer and Product.

Responsibilities;

Planning and Execution

·Provide technical assistance to team members to overcome developmental and organizational obstacles to prevent project delays

·Manage risks and unforeseen problems and escalations

·Foster an organizational environment for innovative project development

Product Testing:

·Produce test cases from documented requirements

·Perform tests and document results

·Support product development activities

·Report product status, risks and observations to project management

·Develop test resources

·Confirm release readiness of the project software

·Perform investigations as required

·Delivery of own work at the time agreed

·Quality of work

·Open and clear communication with colleagues

·Work within the defined processes

·Other assignments as agreed with Test and Validation Manager

Experience;

·Previous test management at both programme and work-stream (project) level

·Experience of testing software driven electronic products

·Experience of testing products based on platforms and shared code base

·Experience of determining and rationalizing test automation strategy, smoke test strategy and manual test strategy

·Working knowledge of tools for collaborative testing such as JIRA

·Experience of management of system and integration testing and acceptance testing phases (from both a supplier and customer perspective)
