Our well established client in the engineering field is looking for a Project/Production Engineer to join their team with immediate effect.

Key elements for the role will be to create work instructions, improve product flow, transferring equipment from old assets to new and to create cell layouts, new or existing areas. Utilising problem solving tools, lean and Six Sigma techniques to establish best practice within the Manufacturing and Assembly facility, you will assess the current processes and redefine for future improvements.

Responsibilities

Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management.
Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and resources required.
Determine project specifications by studying customer requirements, and performance standards and preparing cost estimates.
Determine project schedule by developing project plans and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.
Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
Control project plan by reviewing specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions.
Control project costs by approving expenditures; administering contractor contracts.
Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
Maintain safe working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
Maintain project metrics by entering and backing up data.
Maintain product and company reputation by complying with company regulations.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
You will demonstrate:

• Experience in implementing lean improvements within a manufacturing and assembly environment.
• Highly effective problem solver with knowledge of tools such as 8D and root cause analysis.
• Ability to create stage drawings and methods of manufacture.
• Extensive knowledge of BOM’s, routings and work instructions.
• Able to compile shop floor process instructions and safe working procedures.
• Able to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
• Experience of time measurement and analysis of lost time.
• High standard of numeracy and literacy.
• Communicating and presenting data effectively.
• A team player able to communicate at all levels with the ability to influence upwards and downwards.
• Able to work under own initiative as part of an established team.
• Displays a ‘can do’ attitude.
• Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
