''A great place to be cared for; a great place to work''

Do you want to work for an organisation who has just received an overall rating of GOOD from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) with a rating of OUTSTANDING in care?

The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Community Physiotherapy Service would like to recruit a well-motivated and enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join our Community Physiotherapy Team based in Barrow-in-Furness in South Cumbria. You will be based on the edge of the Lake District National Park giving easy access to recreational activities such as Fell Walking and water sports.

You will deliver high quality physiotherapy to patients in a community setting, helping people to remain at home and avoid hospital admission. Therefore you must have the ability to work and travel to various sites across the Trust independent of public transport. The service works closely with the Integrated Care Communities, local GP's, Adult Social Care and hospital discharge teams for example. The service supports people with a wide variety of conditions including elderly care, frailty and falls, orthopaedics and long term condition management.

We are looking for:

    • A Physiotherapist who has completed a range of core rotations within the NHS as a junior physiotherapist and who is keen to develop their clinical skills further.

    • A motivated individual who can demonstrate evidence of their own professional development.

    • A Team player who can also work independently when necessary.

    • A friendly and flexible attitude, that is patient focused and dedicated to quality care.

The Community Physiotherapy Service has a well-developed appraisal system, regular in-service training programme; access to regular clinical supervision provided by senior staff and actively encourages continuing professional development.

You will be expected to be involved in the supervision and teaching of physiotherapy students and other staff within the service.

Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.

We work as a multi-disciplinary team and you will have the opportunity to contribute to service improvement, helping to develop and improve our pathways of care for our patients.

As a Trust we actively support you to develop your knowledge and skills via our Annual Development Review programme and you will have the opportunity to learn from a team of experienced Specialist Community Physiotherapists.
