''A great place to be cared for; a great place to work''

Do you want to work for an organisation who has just received an overall rating of GOOD from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) with a rating of OUTSTANDING in care?

Do you want to work as part of a forward thinking, inspirational, innovative team who have overcome significant challenges in the last few years, and to join us on our continuing journey towards excellence?

Are you looking for a new career path in one of the most picturesque parts of the country?

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of 350,000 in an area covering 1,000 square miles in the North West of England. This includes the city of Lancaster, towns of Kendal and Barrow-in-Furness, and a large rural area around the South Lakes and the Lune Valley.

The Neonatal Service has vacancies for Band 5 registered nurses that have experience in the care of the preterm and sick infant.

You will be reliable, flexible, motivated and have a commitment to delivering high quality care to babies and families.

If you are looking for an opportunity to work with a team of professionals dedicated to placing the baby and family at the centre of everything we do, then we want to hear from you.

The Neonatal Unit at Royal Lancaster Infirmary is a 10 bedded Level 2 unit which includes 1 intensive care cot, 2 High Dependency cot and 7 Special care cots providing care for babies from 28 weeks gestation. Infants with gestation lower than 27 weeks are transferred to a tertiary facility via a dedicated Network Transfer Team.

The Special Care Baby Unit at Furness General Hospital is a Level 1 unit which has 4 special care cots and is integrated onto the maternity ward where there is a transitional care area. Significantly preterm or sick infants are stabilised and transferred out via a dedicated Network Transfer Team.

The neonatal team is supported by a specialist neonatal educator and a comprehensive induction package is provided to all new staff. We are committed to supporting our employees with a variety of opportunities that allow you to develop personally and professionally including the opportunity to rotate to other units.

Our hospitals are situated on the edge of the Lake District National Park, surrounded by an area of outstanding natural beauty, offering superb outdoor and recreational activities related to the sea, lakes, fells and countryside. Road links to the cities of Manchester and Liverpool are via the M6, and high speed rail links from Lancaster to London enable a journey time of less than three hours.

Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment
