We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated nurses to come and join our Orthopedic Trauma Ward or our Elective Orthopedic Ward.

You will be a motivated individual who want the various challenges we can offer, caring for complex patients within the orthopaedic specialty.

Ward 35 is a busy Orthopaedic Elective ward – undertaking all complex Surgery, including lower & upper limb specialty’s.

Ward 36 is a busy Orthopaedic Trauma ward – admitting Orthopaedic trauma 24 hours per day, including most trauma / fracture neck of femurs, fractures to lower & upper limbs.

Both ward managers, Sue Calvert (Ward 35) and Carol Farrar (Ward 36) are keen to expand their teams, educate staff in Orthopaedic care and really develop their services moving forward.

Both are busy wards, with exciting learning opportunities. Full Preceptorship in progress, with support.

Support will be given to develop you in the role.

If you are successful at the shortlisting stage you will be invited to spend the afternoon with us on Friday, 10th May 2019 at Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

The afternoon will begin with a presentation, after which there will be a drugs calculation test and a 1:1 interview followed by a tour of the hospital site where you will have the opportunity to talk to members of staff

Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have
