Choices is an exciting new employment programme in Allerdale & Copeland funded by The Big Lottery Fund and European Social Fund. Working in partnership with 11 voluntary and community sector delivery partners who are specialists in employment, financial and digital inclusion and volunteering, Choices will support 450 long term unemployed people into or towards employment.

 

Activities Co-ordinator

Salary: Circa £20,000 depending on experience

Hours: 37 hours (Full time until September 2019)

Location: Allerdale & Copeland

 

As an Activities Co-ordinator you will be responsible for organising and creating a varied activities programme, from organised creative activities to group events to completing one to one support with specific activities, all of which will promote independence, resilience, choice and dignity for our participants, enabling participants to develop valuable personal and work-based skills and gain confidence to enable them to achieve their goals. The activity co-ordinator will also deliver an introduction to activities, will ensure all activities are completed in a safe manner and will provide support for the development of soft skills, helping participants to progress during their time on the Choices Programme.

 

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of the local voluntary and community sector and experience of working with people who have multiple barriers
  • Ability to work on own initiative and self-manage work load whilst being a team player and recognising the importance of partnership working
  • Ability to motivate people who lack confidence
  • Customer care skills
  • Experience of data collection and collation, including writing reports and case studies
  • Previous experience in a similar role
