Carlisle City Council has established an Independent Remuneration Panel to advise it on the level of remuneration to be paid to Councillors, in accordance with The Local Authorities (Members Allowances) (England) Regulations 2003, and City Council Officers provide support to the Panel.

No salary is payable, but the Council will pay an annual allowance to cover expenses.
Meetings will normally be held in the Civic Centre, Carlisle, and it is not anticipated that more than 4 meetings a year will be required.
