Based within the Community Safety Team
Seconded to Youth Offending Team (YOT) in Barrow
37 hours per week
Permanent
Salary - £22,221 - £26,802

THE JOB:
Under the direction of the Youth Offending Service Team Practice Manager, the successful candidate will ensure that the policy of the Youth Offending Service relating to victim contact and victim involvement is maintained. They will be responsible for securing the delivery of local services relating to victims to meet Youth Justice Boards national policies and guidance, together with responsibility for some County wide practice initiatives and development of performance in your area.

THE CANDIDATE:
With an understanding of victim issues and the ability to translate policy into practice, the successful candidate will possess a good level of education and have the ability to prove competence in the relevant area of work. You should be IT Literate, able to make clear risk assessments and prioritise resources, together with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing, producing good quality written information to tight deadlines. The candidate will be able to collate statistical information for the Youth Justice Board (victim contact, victim satisfaction and outcomes) and be able to establish constructive working relationships with all partners involved in the Youth Offending Service, working effectively across agency boundaries.

Experience of working with victims within the Criminal Justice System and knowledge of current legislation, guidance and other developments in Youth Justice, Crime and Disorder work would be advantageous for this role.
