Residential Support Worker - Carlisle

As a Registered Crisis Intervention Service and Residential Children's Home provider in Cumbria, Northumberland and South Scotland, we provide both short term placements of up to 17 weeks providing a staff ratio of 2:1 through to full residential care for children with EBD.

About the Role

Working alongside staff teams, provide a high standard of care for the Young People in your charge.
To encourage the Young People to participate in outdoor activities.
To be alert to signs of distress or abuse to ensure Young People are monitored and protected
To assist in the motivation of Young People to take an active part in decision making and be involved in the design and delivery of the care they receive.
To ensure record keeping and administration responsibilities of the team are met, including care plans, day sheets, etc.
To ensure high standards of safe working practices at all times.
 
Requirements of the Role

Diploma Level 3 qualified in Children and Young Peoples workforce (although support to achieve this qualification can be provided)
Full UK Driving Licence
Ability to work shifts including weekends and evening and sleep ins
Knowledge of the National Care Standards
To work as part of a team and use own initiative when required
 
*this salary expectation is inclusive of 9 sleep-ins per month paid at £63 per night however this number of sleep-ins are not guaranteed
