Chief Executive

Cumbria Wildlife Trust is the only voluntary organisation devoted solely to the conservation of the wildlife and wildplaces of Cumbria. The Trust stands up for wildlife, creates wildlife havens, and seeks to raise environmental awareness.

The Trust is a popular, respected and successful organisation with a high profile and a proven track record of delivery. It has continued to grow steadily over the last 20 years and has had many recent successes.

An exciting and rare opportunity as arisen for someone with a proven commitment to conservation to make a real difference to our wildlife heritage in Cumbria.

This is a complex, rewarding and challenging role and the successful candidate will need the leadership skills to take forward our passion and vision for wildlife and our engagement with people. They will also have the ability to handle the breadth of the role and the experience to lead multiple, diverse and integrated projects.

Knowledge of the conservation movement and an understanding of current economic, social and environmental issues are essential. The successful candidate will also have proven communication, networking, project development, financial and fundraising skills with the aptitude for developing opportunities. Knowledge of Cumbria, its wildlife, member-led charities and the volunteer sector are also desirable.

Based at the Trusts headquarters at Plumgarths, Kendal.
