Taking on the position of a Membership and Communications Manager this is a permanent role, working Monday - Thursday 9am - 5pm and Friday 9am - 4.30pm, with a salary of £28,000 - £32,000 dependent on experience.

The Role:

Leading a small team and reporting to the CEO, manage the development and delivery of the membership recruitment, retention and engagement strategy for the organisation. Develop and introduce new benefits and events for members. Identify new revenue generating and sponsoring opportunities. Develop communication and marketing strategies and oversee their implementation to maintain and build the reputation and profile of the organisation and its activities.

General Responsibilities and Duties:

Develop a strong operational understanding of membership processes, procedures and policies to operationalise the membership strategy into effective day-to-day implementation.
Lead the development and delivery of a membership recruitment, retention and engagement strategy for the organisation.
Analyse membership recruitment and retention data to inform, develop and maintain effective membership processes.
Contribute to the formulation of organisation's policies and procedures and make recommendations for future development.
Create and develop an integrated marketing communications strategy
Enhance the companies digital presence through content creation, social media and digital marketing.
Manage the delivery of all marketing and communications materials including promotional material, website content, newsletters and a quarterly magazine.
Develop and implement media relations activity, managing the annual media and PR plan.
Manage and mitigate reputation risks and issues.
Oversee the delivery of events.
Identify and develop opportunities for new events as part of the broader membership strategy.
Provide leadership and management of the membership and communications team.
Build effective and proactive relationships with key stakeholders, external partners and service providers.
Identify and develop commercial opportunities.
Develop a collaborative approach to working with internal departments.Required Experience, Skills and Attributes:

Experience in a membership or marketing communications role essential
Experience and ability to line manage and motivate staff
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Experience creating and implementing marketing communications strategies
Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to multitask and work accurately and effectively under pressure
Ability to think strategically and demonstrate initiative and creativity
Team player with a positive attitude and flexible approach
Excellent attention to detail and editorial judgementDesirable Experience and Skills:

Experience using CRM systems
Experience using content management systems
Experience of product development and enhancement
