Salary: Up to £25,000pa dependent on experience + £5,000 performance related bonus

The Lake District Calvert Trust is an outdoor centre specialising in providing courses for people with disabilities. The main Centre is an adapted farmstead situated 3 miles to the north of Keswick overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake and the mountains on the far shore.

Facilities include accommodation for up to 60 guests, dining room, TV room, large games room and library. There is also an indoor heated swimming pool, indoor sports hall, limited gardens and on site activities. For more information on our organisation, please visit:

Reporting to the Business Manager (Sales and Marketing) the Sales Executive's primary goal is to ensure that the Centre meets its occupancy and income targets. The Sales Executive post is a key post within the Sales & Marketing Team, a small, multi-skilled team that is responsible for all aspects of sales, customer service, marketing / promotion and PR.

Although mainly office and tele-sales based, there will be some field-sales expectations, for which a pool car will be available.

The successful candidate must have:
  • Existing sales skills and a track record in delivering revenue growth
  • A high degree of initiative and ability to identify opportunities and deliver commercial revenues from them
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills
  • Ability to work without constant supervision and to be self-motivated to deliver both revenue and activity KPIs
  • Excellent computer literacy, especially Microsoft Word, Excel & Powerpoint
  • Ability to work with databases and maximise their use in sales campaigns
  • Good telephone manner and interpersonal skills
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Strong commitment to team-work & customer service
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, and to be comfortable in public/media spotlight
  • Flexibility, be well organised, and thorough in attention to detail
  • A positive & pro-active approach, the ability to take ownership of responsibilities and a wider commitment to support the needs of the Centre as a whole

An understanding and empathy for working with people with disabilities and those working in the disability sector is essential. Disability Awareness Training will be provided upon commencing the post. The post also requires a full driving license.
