SENIOR EDUCATION ACCOUNT MANAGER

Location: Head Office Hackthorpe nr Penrith.

Salary: £30,000.00 - £35,000.00 + performance related bonus.

Hours of Work: 37.5 per week.

Reporting to: Head of Education Business Development.

Line Management Responsibility: Education Account Managers x 5

Contract Type: Permanent Full Time.

Job description

  • Overall line management and responsibility for the Education Account Management team.
  • Account management of existing international school clients and managing in-bound enquiries from schools and groups outside of England, Wales and Scotland.
  • Provide support and daily cover across the account management team as required.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance analytics.
  • Oversight of lapsed bookers (greater than 1-year) and creating actions for the regional sales teams to win back business.
  • Project Management of large restricted programmes or projects.
  • To seek opportunities to increase sales and improve customer experience.
  • To effectively work with all internal stakeholders to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Manage and provide cover within the Account Management team for holiday/ sickness.

 

 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and line manage the Account Management team.
  • Maintain the existing international clients through effective account management.
  • Manage new business enquiries through the entire sales cycle from the international schools market (groups from outside England, Scotland & Wales).
  • Support, coach and guide the account management team in their day-to-day functions.
  • Work with the team to increase sales opportunities from existing clients (extension sales and summer adventures).
  • Maintain accurate records of each enquiry and booking using the CRM system.
  • Maintain an accurate pipeline of business with your team.
  • Meet revenue targets and other KPIs for the account management team.
  • Contribute to the achievement of quarterly and annual Education Team targets and KPIs.
  • Use negotiation skills and sales techniques to overcome problems and objections in closing sales.
  • Accurately use the CRM and booking system.
  • Effectively monitor the use of financial assistance by the account management team.
  • Liaise with the Customer Services Team and Centre Admin Teams to ensure customer commitment in line with T&Cs and a high quality experience for all clients.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of key existing accounts (client value between £60 - £100k) in all regions.
  • To represent The Outward Bound Trust mission, values and ways of working together internally and externally.

Person Specification:

Essential

  • Minimum 3-years account management or sales experience.
  • Proven team management, leadership skills and experience.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Good PC literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel, Office 365 and PowerPoint).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision and with flexibility in order to respond to priorities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills over the phone, in-person and in writing.
  • The ability to work with wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working with schools, groups or travel sector.
  • Knowledge of and experience within the education system.
  • Experience with the charitable or social enterprise sector.
  • A knowledge of and interest in outdoor learning methodology and impact.
  • Experience using a CRM system.

 


Other

  • Some evening, weekend and overnight work will be required as part of the role, including attending Teacher Taster sessions, visiting clients, attending centres, events and meetings.
  • An enhanced DBS check will be required to confirm the role.

Salary and benefits:

  • Basic starting salary £30,000.00 - £35,000.00 per year (dependent on relevant experience) for a 37.5 hour week and performance related bonus.
  • Annual Leave of 24 days increasing by one day each year to a maximum of 30 days, plus bank holidays.  
  • Life Assurance: 3 x salary, covered from start date; includes Employee Assistance helpline. 
  • 8 weeks sick pay at full salary in any 12 months. 
  • Long-term Disability Insurance: 2/3 salary less state incapacity benefit after 6 months absence for up to 5 years, covered from start date.

Probation period

There is a 3-month probationary period from the employees start date.
