The Royal Hospital for Children is based on the brand new state of the art Queen Elizabeth Campus. The hospital has stunning designs which includes a mix of four-bedded and single rooms and a part covered roof garden where young patients can enjoy a range of activities in the fresh air.

The children's hospital has 256 beds over five storeys on two sites and 94 neonatal cots over three sites. The children's hospital provides a large number of specialist services to the West of Scotland and the wider population of Scotland in addition to the full range of secondary care services to the children of Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Specialist services include: Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, Renal and Bone Marrow Transplantation. For a number of these specialised services, the children's hospital is recognised as the sole provider in Scotland.

As part of a multidisciplinary team you will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and evaluation of programmes of care ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients. 

You will provide a high standard of nursing care within the clinical area to ensure that patient needs are assessed, care planned, implemented and evaluated, and that there is consultation and involvement of patient/carers. You will be responsible for maintaining patient records within agreed standards and ensuring high quality record keeping within area of responsibility.

It is essential that you are eligible to qualify as a Registered Children's Nurse and to have your name entered onto the NMC Register. You should have good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills whilst also having goof report writing skills. You should have the ability to work within a team while having the awareness of this role and your responsibilities. These are permanent posts with full and part time hours; these hours will be worked on a rotational shift pattern. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership / Disclosure Scotland Check.
